Fruit Loops Zoanthid
The Fruit Loops Zoanthids (Zoanthus sp.) are a vibrant, aquacultured strain of colonial soft corals highly popular in the reef aquarium hobby for their candy-like, multicolored polyps that evoke the cheerful hues of Fruit Loops cereal, adding a playful pop to rockwork displays.
Appearance
Structure: Forms compact clusters of 3-6 (or more) polyps that encrust and spread in a low-lying, mat-like formation across surfaces, with each polyp featuring a distinct oral disk that fully extends into a dome shape under ideal conditions.
Coloration: Each polyp showcases a rainbow of bold, contrasting colors within a single specimen—typically bright pinks, oranges, reds, greens, and yellows blending seamlessly in the skirts, centers, and tentacles for a festive, marbled effect; under actinic or blue-enriched lighting, the colors fluoresce intensely, creating a glowing, jewel-toned spectacle.
Size and Growth: Sold as small 3-4 polyp frags, they exhibit rapid, aggressive growth via fission, potentially covering large areas of rock in months and outcompeting slower corals.
Sold in 5-10 Polyps
