Green Branching Cyphastrea
The Green Branching Cyphastrea (Cyphastrea decadia) is a hardy, aquacultured small polyp stony (SPS) coral strain prized in the reef aquarium hobby for its upright growth form and vivid lime-green hues that add a fresh, vertical accent to mixed reefs or SPS setups.
Appearance
Structure: Forms distinctive axial and radial branching colonies with short, robust fingers or knobs that radiate outward from an encrusting base, creating a bushy, compact shape rather than thin or tabular branches—reminiscent of a mini staghorn but with a chunkier texture.
Coloration: Solid lime or neon green skeletal body with subtle blue or purple undertones in the polyps under actinic lighting, where the greens fluoresce brightly for a glowing, ethereal effect; polyps are small and tightly spaced, often with a starry or meteor-like pattern.
Size and Growth: Frags start at 0.75-1 inch, with fast growth rates that can produce 4-6 inch tall colonies in 6-12 months, making it ideal for propagation.
Sold in 1-2” X 1-2” frags
